Photography I: Almost Autumn

    Everyone keeps saying that Autumn is here, that it has arrived, that the air is getting cooler, that the leaves are starting to change. We haven't had much of that here yet, except for a cooler shifting breeze; I attend school at 3,333 feet, so it doesn't take too long for the colors to work their way down. Though when it does, it's the most beautiful thing. I am nestled within the Appalachian mountains, among fields and streams and morning fog, and things that turn all sorts of reds and yellows. I would never willingly leave a place that had mountains.

    I love Autumn. It has always been my favorite season ever since I was little. As the warm, long rays of late Summer flood the landscape, we have a very short time to wait, for the absolutely perfect, leaf-scented, chilly world of cute sweaters and pumpkins.

    I soon discovered Oer-Wout. His entire gallery is incredible. It epitomizes what I think of when envisioning the autumnal forest. To capture that feeling, the essence of the forest, in that internal place where you know it, THAT is a feat.
