Socar Myles of Vancouver, BC has one of those galleries that, if it were socially acceptable to do so, I'd nearly everything in it. Her unique pen and ink illustrations exemplify natural forms. The interconnectedness of life through birth and death—and from one life form to the next—are pervasive themes. Nature is personified: scraggly tree-men with wise faces, fair maidens of skin and bark, and sentient weeds cover the pages.
Her poem Ratty's Ghost also happens to be my favorite on this site.
'A sleeping rat gets lost in dreams
Of idle wilds and cunning schemes...'
In addition to glorious rats and perching antennabirds, socar draws all sorts of delightful animals.
As you may have noticed, these pieces are unbelievably detailed, foreground to background. Two interesting things you may not have noticed: 1) size—some of these pieces are exceedingly tiny; and 2) each piece's title and artist description—many times these explain the piece in a whimsical or humorous way, perhaps with a supplemental short story. Definitely worth reading!
In the end, I could spend all day looking at these. They make me smile. [:
