Of all the illustrators I have found on deviantART throughout the years, teaganwhite is one if my all-time favorites. Sweet pastels and deep earth tones set the mood in a heartwarming world of wild (and not so wild) animals, fruits, and bones. Throughout her work, the cyclic nature of life and death is a major theme.

As her profile explains,
"Nature's subtleties and reciprocal relationships between living things inspire her most, and her work typically incorporates nostalgic colors, decorative arrangements of organic forms, and meticulous detail."

Teagan, as a watercolor artist (along with other media, such as ink and digital), is deeply inspiring to me. Her whimsical woodland creatures revel in the changing seasons, each beautiful scene alive with colordid I mention I really, really love her color schemes?

There are a few books I distinctly remember from my childhood, and it is not their plots that come first to mind, but the feel of the landscapes evoked by the personal style of the artist. This isn't to say that the task of those who primarily write children's books is any less important for a young child's imagination, as I too remember being read stories at night, but there is something special about good illustration. I still have these books, and I would venture to say many of us do; they transcend age and touch something in our adult selves, forming a connection with the past.

If realistically-styled artwork is more your thing, Teagan's gallery has no shortage of that. Widely popular, too, is her typography.
